Dr. Abraham Thomas is the Senior Vice President and Chairman of Medicine at Lutheran Healthcare.

Dr. Thomas received his MD from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and his Masters in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Center as well as post-doctoral training at the National Institutes of Health.

Program Director

Dr. Gupta attended medical school at SUNY Downstate where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency training at Brown University where he was elected as one of the Chief Medical Residents. Following completion of his training, he remained at Brown as a member of the teaching faculty and as an Associate Program Director of the Residency training program. He is currently the Associate Program Director of the residency program at Lutheran Medical Center and a member of the Hospitalist division. His interests include medical education research and hospital medicine.
